the DUCATI factory and museum VISIT!!!!!!!!!

What could be said about this photograph that the ear to ear grin of Jimi does not already speak volumes upon. Telling me that she had found the scoot to take home (I wish!), she flew to this little beast like a bee to the hive. For a spot second there, I thought she was about to clamber aboard and give it a requisite hot lap round the museum floor. But alas, it was for not...she simply asked when I would be bringing it home for the Christmas stocking with that smile (hmmm, me thinks that Santa better try and get a second or third job!).

This example of a 1955 Ducati 125 Gran Sport had a running tally of victories that made all other bikes of it's era seem childish in compare. The bike is also noted for holding the prestige of having been one of the first projects brought to fruition by Fabio Taglioni, the former teacher at the "Tecniche" of Imola turned master engineer, designer, and craftsman beginning in 1954 for Ducati. A deluge of history resides under those hands wrapped by Jimi's wondrous smile!

The road less traveled (much less at low speeds) does not exist in Italy. Note the white striped line in the middle of the Autostrada coming back from Bologne. Finally figured out that it really meant, "drive as you need to"! Gottah love those Italians. Fantastico. Click on the thumbnail image to do the dance.

Got questions...?...Got milk...?...send eMail to Jim Goodlett if you got either!!
