in view within the non-rolled over image is moi, sitting astride the more than fab 999 of Johan, who was kind enough, if not completely mad enough to allow me to peddle it to our next pickup stop!...

in the rolled over image, note Johan giving the requisite twist to my startled 916s...it is interesting to ride the differences, which were quite large indeed between the last year of the 916, and the first year of the 999...in specific the following top 5:

1. the 999 is as smooth as glass...with both next to no engine vibration, as well as superb road dampening...it also is deceptively quick and at times if one forgets to look down at the digi readout on the speedo, one might be in danger of tickets galore...the 916 is much more a brute of a bike in regard to the ride, though if breathed upon appropriately (mine ported to the 955 race bike), the 916 has power to suffice.

2. the 999 has seat area galore on the biposto in compare to the 916...for those with long legs or long torso, you will not ever feel cramped.

3. the 999's tachometer placement and sizing could not be more brilliant...even though I have logged nearly 20k miles on my 916, having a quick read on the tach has me sometimes missing and having a look see at the same sized and background colored speedo instead...bully to the new tach on the 999.

4. the wrist positioning for the bars on the 999 is more subtle than that of the 916...though I will say, when on the track, the positioning of the bars is a might bit smarting and allows one to really lean over the tank as one leans off the seat.

5. the 999 is so much more powerful of a bike in close up view...I have seen it for nearly a year in the mags, and well, the photogs do NOT do it justice...the bike is all that and more in the eyeballed form...

or simply, a superb ride that will no doubt some year have me adding it to the stable (after the rest of the Tamburini designed scoots, that is to say (3 more to go go)).
