and back to that first discuss of Steve being wired in...beyond the smarting instrumentation that the Bimmer comes with, Steve has stacked his glide with the essentials needed for some long ways around...on deck in the backround is the requesite radar detector that only popped once on our trip (thankfully we were at rest)...in the foreground near the bottom of the pic resides a Garmin GPS...it recorded the entire trip and allowed Steve to put in some way points for a ride to come in the offroad arena near the SC and Ga borders...it has a touch screen on the front face, and allows you to literally scroll the map in not only scale but as well in moving the map to see the next lay of the land...nevermind all the plugins the lad had for heating devices extraordinaire...I now know why BMW gave a set of these nearly bullet proof riding apparati to the lads in the Long Way Around series... superb ride in every respect!!!
