Neglected,
rusted, saved, purchased, and then crashed all in
the first 6 months...the story starts when she was
retrieved from some ill mannered no thinking about
the rusting from sea-going-voyages person off an Italian
yacht docked in Savannah for repairs...I then purchased
this pup in 2002 from Ted
who spied and pried the classic away from the aforementioned...poor
thing never had it so good as it turned out, whence
I lent it to a surf buddy for a rip around
one of the historic squares in the dead of night when
we both had an eve on the town...
now a year and some later, replaced the slightly bent
and rusted wheels, Andy's
lads rebuilt/replaced/reshot the body work (Ducati
Killer yellow), and Ted
rebuilt the motor...she now purrs like a kitten with
a fire cracker strapped to her tail...as she was borne
to life from across the pond, the style mad Italians
gave the world one of the first laced up 12 inch wheeled
scoots that has loads of room, plenty of go juice,
and plenty more fun to be had whilst wearing a wide
cheshire grin...she is now the perfect scoot to jump
around downtown or down to Ted's with Jimi
running along side on her wondrous Italjet, which
made it in the Art
of Motorcycle collection for the Guggenheim shows...
loverly Italian design indeed... |
